OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS & HEART DISEASE

This project evaluates the relations of biomarkers of seafood-derived eicosapentaenoic (EPA; 20:5n-3), docosapentaenoic (DPA; 22:5n-3), and docosahexaenoic acids (DHA; 22:6n-3), and plant-derived alpha-linolenic acid (ALA; 18:3n-3) and incident total coronary heart disease (CHD), nonfatal and fatal CHD.

OMEGA-6 FATTY ACIDS, HEART DISEASE & DIABETES

These projects evaluate the relations of biomarkers of linoleic (LA; 18:2n-6) and arachidonic acids (AA; 20:4n-6) and incident total cardiovascular disease (CVD), CVD mortality, total CHD, ischemic stroke, and type 2 diabetes.
